Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) Sponsors Annual “Ask DDS Day”
The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) recently hosted its fourth annual “Ask DDS Day” on August 1, 2012 at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia. Over 100 guests from various driver safety programs attended this year’s event making it a success and the largest to date.
School owners, Instructors, Third-party examiners, Chauffeurs, and Ignition Interlock providers received information on a number of strategic initiatives, including Secure ID and Online Certification Reporting Application (O.C.R.A.). A legislative update highlighting new laws enacted during the 2012 legislative session was also provided.
Guest speakers this year included several members of the DDS Executive Leadership Team as well as representatives from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute, Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program, Georgia Department of Public Safety Motor Carrier Compliance Division, Georgia Department of Public Health, Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, ADE Incorporated, and Prime Research Institute.
The DDS has hosted the annual “Ask DDS Day” since 2008 with the goal of cultivating and maintaining open lines of communications with driver safety programs throughout the State of Georgia.
