Driver Services Commissioner Appointed to International Industry Board


Commissioner Rob Mikell, Department of Driver Services (DDS), was recently re-appointed a member-at-large to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) International Board of Directors.  He was sworn in at the recent AAMVA International Annual Conference. This is the Commissioner’s second term on the International Board which is committed to enhancing safety and security through motor vehicle administration and law enforcement. 

“I am honored to be able to continue on the AAMVA International Board – a recognized leading authority for driver and vehicle licensing, highway safety and related administration and enforcement,” Commissioner Mikell said.  “We will work to establish best practices which improve customer service while eliminating expenses and preserving the security of personal data,” he added. 

Commissioner Mikell most recently served as the AAMVA Region II President.  He has served on numerous committees and workgroups. 

AAMVA is a nonprofit organization that develops model programs in motor vehicle administration, law enforcement and highway safety. The association's programs encourage uniformity and reciprocity among the states and provinces, and liaisons with other levels of government and the private sector. Founded in 1933, AAMVA represents the state and provincial officials in the United States and Canada who administer and enforce motor vehicle laws.
