375-2-13-.06 An Owner who Scraps, Dismantles or Destroys a Vehicle
Whenever any owner scraps, dismantles or destroys a vehicle, he shall, within 72 hours, mail or deliver the certificate of title for that vehicle to the Department of Motor Vehicle Safety for cancellation. The surrendered certificate of title shall have the assignment to any new owner completed thereon as is otherwise provided by law.
